8 ½ Pieces for Wind Quintet (2017) was inspired by the director Fedrico Fellini's semi-autobiographical film "Otto e Mezzo", and each movement is motivated by a diffrent concept.

The process of writing these nine pieces was similar to the film Otto e Mezzo. From the very beginning, I was thinking about the purpose and meaning of my music, simply using the concept of music theory to compose. But later I found that I still got something what I love, and it became my nutrients. I dedicate this work to those music which have been abandoned by me because I didn't follow to my heart.
